Thanks for that – and just a second point – is there any chance of getting a translation in English of the Maori lyrics to Slice of Heaven? (They do not seem to be direct translations of the original words?) I like to know what I am singing!
Hi – I am having difficulty with this one. I am recently getting back to singing as I have got very rusty and my voice has deteriorated with illness and lack of practice. I am usually a Soprano, but the Soprano piece here is VERY high, so I went down to Alto, but even the Alto piece seems to expect a huge range, with some sections still seeming very high, and then droppping down an entire octave, which I’m finding hard to do well. I can probably do the Alto and work on the high parts in there, and just mouth those bits in silence if I can’t get them mastered before the group rehearsal. Is that probably the best option, or do you have some other suggestions? (I am fine with the other two pieces) Nga mihi. Beth
It sounds like you are doing great work here, Beth. The idea is that you sing the parts that you are comfortable with and your suggestion of staying high and not doing the Octave drop is absolutely fine! Our wonderful vocal teachers will be able to give you more tips on the weekend during the rehearsal.Enjou!

Sorry Beth, we don’t have that available at the moment.
